Guide’s Plate badges granted. Guides will show us around the Kraków Fortress
During the celebration of World Tourism Day on 27th September (Tuesday), badges were officially granted to graduates of guide courses. This year 25 persons have become licensed Kraków tourist guides.
During the meeting in the Kraków City Office, Guide’s Plate badges were granted to Elżbieta Kantor – Head of the Tourism Department and to representatives of the Federation of Guides’ Associations and the Circle of City Guides at the Kraków Branch of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK). The inaugural lecture on ‘Forts in Kraków’ was delivered by Krzysztof Wielgus, PhD (Engineering), an architect and expert in defensive architecture.
According to tradition, the new guides will invite Kraków inhabitants to free tours. This year, in connection with the construction of the Kraków Fortress tourist product, it will be an opportunity to take part in the sightseeing tour of the relics of Bastion V ‘Lubicz’. The guides will reveal secrets and tell about details connected with the construction and use of the structure located on the Kraków Fortress Trail.
The tour ‘Forgotten Bastion – Fort Lubicz’ will take place on 1st October 2022 at 10:00 a.m., meeting point: Kraków Opera.
